The 20-year-old fought tooth-and-nail
with Pella, eventually saving a match point while serving at 4-5 before
clinching his victory with a well-played tiebreaker to earn a spot in
his second career final.
Rublev’s 6-2, 4-6, 7-6(2) victory sets a final with Gael Monfils, who advanced when Dominic Thiem pulled out due to illness.
The physical, thrilling encounter lasted two hours and 26 minutes and left Rublev feeling elated.
"It feels amazing. I have no words to describe this match," Rublev said.
"I think it was such an amazing match for both of us. We made amazing
rallies, such unreal rallies. I'm really happy that I won. I can say
only good job to Pella for how he played.”
Monfils will contest his 27th ATP final. He is a three-time runner-up at
Doha and last reached the final in 2014 (loss to Nadal).
Monfils is contesting his first event since the U.S. Open after spending time during winter rehabbing from a knee injury.
He and Rublev have never met. The Russian can crack the Top 30 for the first time with a title in Doha.

Felabration: One week of intense fun, partying and remembrance of Fela Anikulapo Kuti
Fela Kuti was born in Nigeria in 1938. He moved to England in 1958 where he
studied at the Trinity School of Music. In 1963 he returned to Nigeria where he fronted the
Highlife and Jazz Band, Koola Lobitos. In 1969 he toured the USA and after
meeting the Black Panther Party re-named his group Fela Ransome-Kuti and the Nigeria
70. He created his own unique style of music which he named
Afrobeat.
In 1974, Fela built a fence around his house and declared it to be an independent state: The Kalakuta Republic. Kalakuta was the name of a cell Fela had occupied after being arrested in April 1974. In 1975, Fela changed his middle name to Anikulapo (He who carries death in his pouch).
In 1977, Fela and the Afrika ’70 released the album 'Zombie', a powerful attack on Nigerian soldiers. The government was infuriated and Kalakuta was raided by about 1,000 soldiers, who burnt down Fela’s house and beat many of its occupants, even throwing Fela’s elderly mother out of a window.
Fela Kuti has released some of the best and most important music of the past century and has been revered by musicians the world over such as Paul McCartney, ?Uestlove from The Roots, Thom Yorke from Radiohead, Miles Davis, Bono from U2 and many more.
Fela’s death on 2nd August 1997 was mourned by the Nigerian nation, with over a million people attending his funeral.
Felabration marks the birthday of Fela Anikulapo Kuti, the defining creator of the funk, jazz and rhythmic force that is Afrobeat, which emerged in Nigeria in the 1970s. As well as a composer and multi-instrumentalist genius, Fela was a human rights activist and defiant political and social maverick whose influence continues to reverberate throughout Africa and beyond. Fela passed away 19 years ago; his funeral in Lagos was attended by more than one million people. This October Fela would have turned 78.
But Felabration is not only an annual event in Lagos but also a global one: last year more than 20 Felabrations took place around the world, in major cities across the United States and Europe, and in such unexpected locations as Jakarta, Indonesia, Osaka, Japan and Reykjavik, Iceland.

Some of the Beaches in Lagos you did like to Visit
Elegushi Beach (The Sunday School)
Certainly the most prominent seashore in Lagos, Elegushi beach located 2 km off the Lekki-Epe Express way plays host to a large crowd of visitors on a daily basis. The beach literally has no off-season. if you are the playful type or have
children, you could bring a jump rope onto the beach, fly a kite, or
even build a sand castle.Horse riding is another favorite
activity as trainers tag their horses along, offering you a ride or
pictures for a small fee. You can also play beach volleyball or toss a
football or frisbee back and forth with friends if you came in a group.
Early afternoons are also the best time
for picnics, as that is when you can get a nice spot to you and your
crew to chill and enjoy your picnic for as long as you chose to. Other
activities such as para-sailing or surfing are not very safe in the
choppy waters, so this is something you should not try here.
Evening: There is something memorable about nightlife here. For some reason, nighttime is the peak period for visiting this beach around lekki.Perhaps it is the salty ocean breeze or
moonlight reflecting off the ocean, or maybe it is the pulsating music
at one of many popular nightspots. Whatever the cause, the memories are
fun and an evening out in Elegushi Beach will leave you wanting to visit
again and again.
